Job Title: Director of Marketing and Member Services

The Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA) is a trade association representing skilled nursing, assisted living and personal care communities in Pennsylvania. PHCA is committed to promoting members’ common interests in creating and sustaining a robust quality care delivery system for Pennsylvania’s aging and disabled individuals. PHCA is looking for a sales and relationship focused professional to support the objectives of this influential organization.

The person in this position will be responsible for member, sponsor and partner recruitment and retention as well as event exhibitor sales and support. The position also will be responsible for providing or delivering certain member benefits as well as identifying opportunities for enhancing products and services for members and other non-dues revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Membership recruitment and retention:

  • Implement a strategy for member (SNF, AL/PC, Business Partners) recruitment and retention to further strengthen the voice and influence of the association.
    • Marketing materials and collateral
    • Responding to nonmember inquiries
    • Making membership calls and proposals
    • Leading a member onboarding and retention process
  • Implement a strategy for sponsor (association, event, product) sales and partnerships to create value for sponsors, members and association operations.
    • Annual association sponsors (Platinum-Plus, Platinum, Gold)
    • Event (Annual Convention, AL/PC Summit, BHSL Forums, Quality Symposium)
    • Products (Knowledge Notebooks, Stop and Watch Cards, Legislative Directory)
    • Event (Annual Convention, AL/PC Summit) exhibitor and vendor sales
      • Coordinate exhibitor floor, booth assignments, booth traffic, building value for vendors and inquiries
  • Manage key member, sponsor, partner and exhibitor relationships
    • Manage sponsor and exhibitor expectations to ensure positive experiences with PHCA and its members
    • Lead and coordinate events and activities to promote valuable relationships between members and key sponsors and partners
    • Lead business partner initiatives (Business Marketplace)
    • Lead affinity relationships (energy purchasing, supply purchasing, training and education, insurance benefits) and non-dues revenue partnerships (Member Directory)
  • Manage the development and delivery of certain member services (webinars, job board, Business Marketplace)
  • Assist in coordinating member and partner communications
  • Coordinate with the database administrator input and updates of member and partner information

 Qualifications include:

  • Skill and experience in sales and marketing
  • Understanding of the methods of membership recruitment and retention
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships
  • Experience in coordinating or supporting tradeshows and vendor support
