About the Presenter:
Leadership and div ersity strategist, Danielle Lynch, is passionate about making diversity acc essible for leaders and organizations. She is a lifelong learner and educat or and truly a coach of coaches. Danielle focuses on extracting the lived e xperiences of individuals to help to guide communities in learning the mech anisms of equity and justice and applying them to achieve tangible results.
The first head coach in program history, Danielle Lynch enters her n inth season at the helm of Penn State Harrisburg men’s and women’s indoor a nd outdoor track & field in 2020-21. The 2019 Capital Athletic Conferen ce (CAC) Women’s Indoor Coach of the Year has also served as the head coach of the cross-country program since 2013.
In addition to her coaching role, Lynch also serves as Penn State Harrisburg’s Senior Woman Administra tor, Student-Athlete Welfare Coordinator, department Title IX designee, dep artment Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Designee and sits on several un iversity committees including the Senior Athletic Leadership Committee, the Development Committee for Athletics, SAF (Student Activity Fee), Title IX Self Study, and the WEcAREFoodPantry. She is a charter member of the Allian ce for Women’s Coaches, an NCAA Women’s Coaching Academy Graduate, a Women Leaders in College Sports Member, and a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. Lynch is the Chair of the North Eastern Athletic Conference ( NEAC) Senior Woman Administrators and the Vice-Chair of the NEAC Cross Coun try Coaches. Lynch is the facilitator for the college's Multicultural Acade mic Excellence Program (MAEP) and a coordinator for the college's Multicult ural Graduation Celebration. Lynch is responsible for bringing thought lead ers in the areas of social justice, diversity, gender, inclusion, antiracis m, power, and privilege to provide training and continuing education.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Anthropology from Rutg ers in 2003, Lynch earned her Masters of Science in Education from Bucknell in 2010 and is a licensed teacher. Lynch is a Doctoral Candidate in the Li felong Learning in Adult Education program at Penn State University and has a research focus on the lived experiences of Black male professional athle tes in light of the current social justice movements. Lynch is an NCAA and GreenDot bystander intervention facilitator and an ONETEAM LGBTQ facilitato r. Lynch has a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion and has been re cently featured in CNN’s “Go There” where she and her husband addressed the challenges of raising Black children in today’s America. She currently res ides in Harrisburg, Pa. with her family.
