Job Title: Accounts Receivable Assistant

The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, a state-wide advocacy organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable Accounting Assistant.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Assistant to provide financial, administrative and clerical services. Accounts receivable duties include ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts. This position is also responsible for creating invoices, journal entries, and account reconciliations. The candidate must demonstrate accounting concepts and generally accepted accounting principles. The candidate must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. They must be able to manage their time effectively, meet deadlines, work independently and effectively communicate.

Essential Duties:

  •  Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.
  •  Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits.
  •  Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Prepares journal entries and spreadsheets. 
  •  Prepares financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status. 
  •  Assist with entering database changes and generating reports.
  •  Assists with monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Business Administration with advanced accounting courses. 
  • 3+ years of accounting experience. Experience with multi-company computerized accounting software is preferred. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional, dependable, strong work ethic, detail-oriented, self-motivated.
  • Possess a positive team-player attitude.
