August Taste of Success Webinar: Ethics in Association Management

Presenter/Speaker: Bob Skelton, CAE

Presentation Description: Bob is presenting part two of his Association Ethics presentation which kicked off earlier this year at the PASAE Connections Conference. (Attendance at part one is not required to attend this session.) Attendees will further explore ethics policies and practices associations should have in place, discuss the ethical decision-making model formulated by the ASAE Ethics Committee, and then apply ethical decision-making to several real-life scenarios. Bob will discuss association ethics in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic as a part of the discussion.

Participants will: 

• Understand the elements of a practical code of conduct and related policies for your association
• Learn a process for ethical decision-making in your organization
• Apply the ethical decision-making models in real-life scenarios

About the Speaker: Bob Skelton, CAE, is the Chief Administrative Officer and In-House Counsel for ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. Bob is responsible for Legal, Human Resources, Risk Management, Office Services, Conference Center operations, and is a member of the Executive Team. Bob also serves as the senior staff liaison for ASAE’s Ethics Committee, National Capital Area Advisory Council, and Legal Advisory Council. Bob is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, NY and The George Washington University National Law Center, and is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

Taste of Success is a lunch-and-learn seminar-style event held in the mid-day monthly at a PASAE Member hotel, conference center, or restaurant. Since we take a few months off in the summer and winter, there are usually 6-7 of these events each year. During the pandemic, these events have been moved to virtual.
