February Taste of Success: Think Like a Futurist to Manage Change

Presenter/Speaker: Terry Grim

Presentation Description:

Associations more than ever before need to plan for changes in their environment and understand the forces driving the changes. This one hour session from Foresight Alliance presents a brief overview of foresight frameworks and the nature of change. Futures or foresight thinking complements strategic thinking by opening up and exploring options and future implications, and gives organizations tools and practices to help them navigate skillfully through uncertainty and achieve their most desirable future. ForesightWorks, a large library of drivers of change developed by ASAE, will also be presented. This information is available to association members and facilitates bringing foresight knowledge quickly into an association’s decision making boards.

Learning Objectives
1. Participants will come away with an expanded understanding of foresight and how it can be applied to strengthen decision-making in the present.
2. Participants will better understand the framework of the ForesightWorks briefs and how associations can use ForesightWorks to integrate foresight into their real-world planning and decision making.
